Today’s blog post is about conversion tracking! As a Google Ads specialist, I've seen time and again how important conversion tracking is for businesses. When I do an account audit, I always check to see if there is conversion tracking properly set-up. If there isn’t any conversion tracking, then I organise to get this done. I’ll explain what conversions are & why it is important to track them. Firstly, what are conversions? A conversion is a specific action that a user takes on your website after clicking on one of your ads. This could include making a purchase, filling out a lead form, signing up for a newsletter, or any other action that you define as valuable to your business. Here are a few reasons why you should be tracking conversions for your Google Ads campaigns: 1. Measure the effectiveness of your campaigns When you're running Google Ads campaigns, you want to know that your ads are actually driving sales or leads. Conversion tracking allows you to see exactly how many conversions your campaigns are generating, so you can measure their effectiveness and make data-driven decisions about how to optimize your campaigns. 2. Identify which ads are driving the most conversions Conversion tracking also allows you to see which ads are driving the most conversions. By identifying your top-performing ads, you can optimize your campaigns to focus on those ads and improve your return on investment. 3. Optimize your campaigns for better results Once you know which ads are driving the most conversions, you can start making changes to your campaigns to improve their performance. For example, you might want to adjust your ad targeting or messaging to focus on the keywords or audiences that are driving the most conversions. 4. Improve your return on investment Ultimately, conversion tracking allows you to improve your return on investment by optimizing your campaigns for better results. By focusing on the ads that are driving the most conversions and making data-driven decisions about your campaigns, you can reduce your cost per acquisition and improve your overall ROI. In conclusion, conversion tracking is a critical component of any successful Google Ads campaign. By measuring the effectiveness of your campaigns, identifying your top-performing ads, optimizing your campaigns for better results, and improving your ROI, you can take your Google Ads campaigns to the next level and drive more sales or leads for your business.

All of my clients have conversion tracking set-up and because I manage their accounts for them, I use this data to optimize their accounts and am able to provide them with detailed reports with ROAS (return on ad spend) figures. If you are running Google Ads campaigns and don’t have conversion tracking set-up on your website, get in touch today!
